Job Sumary:

Design, engineer glass melting furnaces for container glass manufacturing facilities in a global environment. Provide technical support for refractory projects, design, planning, implementation and renovations. Provide operating and maintenance support for the applicable systems to the facilities. Review new refractories and refractory applications. Provide technical assistance on corporate programs and initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities:

Provides cost estimations for the furnace refractories, using historical data and cost estimating software.
Assure the scope of work outlined conforms to the latest furnace design standards
Identify furnace design work for the entire project
Maintain and improve technical and not technical skills.
Provide feedback to GFT for improvement of standards.
Keeping up to date on the latest design standards in his discipline.
Attend department and vendor meetings within discipline group
Keep up to date on refractory materials and its applications.
Guide designers during the production of drawings.
Check and mark up drawings from the designers and provide feedback to the designers in the produced drawings.
Communicate with the project manager(s) on the scope of the project.
Provide input on corporate programs and initiatives.
Communicate with other disciplines on design changes and request input for the determining the scope of projects.
